Senior Fellows
Have you ever wondered why we appoint Senior Fellows or what they do?
Magellan maintains a small staff but tackles big projects and issues.
Senior Fellows play a large role in our success through subject matter
expertise, extending our circle of contacts, writing articles and
speaking on our behalf, and occasionally managing segments of our work.
Generally, Senior Fellows are professional consultants or educators. In
most cases, they are not employed by Magellan Center but generously
donate their time and talents because they support our beliefs and
goals.
Senior Fellows are carefully selected to widen our scope of
knowledge. In choosing candidates, we look for individuals we believe
hold key expertise in one piece of a larger puzzle. Specifically, that
puzzle is a healthy economy rooted in a diverse global business climate
that requires and employs highly skilled workers. We want Senior
Fellows who can keep Magellan Center informed on trends, challenges,
strengths and new developments within their field.
There are four requirements of a Senior Fellow appointment:
Candidates must be expert in their industry and be well-recognized as
an expert. They must be capable of and willing to write articles,
editorials and opinions to the editor for both Magellan publications
and national newspapers. Their subject area must dovetail with our
work. They must be willing to collaborate with other Senior Fellows on
Center issues.
This term, there is also one new request. We ask Senior Fellows to
join us for our first annual Senior Fellow Summit in Longmont October
19 – 20 2007. While summit plans are still in the making, we intend to
offer two information packed days of public forums on global trade
opportunities, innovative problem solving, world sustainability,
renewable energy, governance and compliance, international consulting,
U.S. manufacturing, human resources management, baby boomers at work,
and access to capital.
Magellan Center is very proud of and honored by our 2006 – 2008
Senior Fellows. Please see our enclosed publication to learn more about
each individual. Together, they offer Magellan Center, our members and
collaborators a tremendous brain trust resource.
